John Knitter and the Stage of Tricks is the second novel in the John Knitter sequence published by J. K. Rowling. The tale follows Harry's second season at Hogwarts University of Witchcraft and Magic, during which a sequence of information on the surfaces on the college's passages notify that the "Chamber of Secrets" has been started out and that the "heir of Slytherin" would destroy all students who do not come from all-magical family members. These risks are followed by strikes which keep citizens of the college "petrified" (frozen like stone). Throughout the season, John and his buddies Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger examine the strikes.
